Whizzkids Residential Camps

6 Days on Campus

The Residential camp will have all the fun activities of a regular day camp, but with extra time, each area will be explored in more detail. This will be particularly so for those interested in movie making, where not only will there be performance and storyboarding of the video, those attending will be undertaking the post production video-editing. Our program of activities runs until 5PM and dinner is served at 6. At 8PM we have our very own activities on campus. Arrival is 3PM on Sunday and departure is at 12PM on Saturday.

10 Days Tech 'n' Tours

For our visitors from abroad we have a 10 day package for groups who also want to see some of Ireland's top tourist spots. Based at the University of Limerick, which is situated at the gateway to the beautiful and rugged West of Ireland with world reknowned sites such as the Cliffs of Moher only a short drive away. The region also boasts a journey back in time at Bunratty Castle or hi-speed Mountain Bike Trails for those who want a bit of action!

University of Limerick

The University of Limerick boasts over 300 acres of the finest parkland campus in Ireland. With UL's superb facilities, first class on-campus accommodation and it's reputation as an innovative and cutting edge university, this is the ideal location to immerse yourself in the Whizzkids experience.

Dublin City University

Situated on an 85 acre campus three miles north of the River Liffey in the city centre and just off the M50, DCU prides itself on the range of its facilities, both academic and recreational. Recognised nationally and internationally as a centre of academic excellence. The design of the campus and the bright modern architecture make DCU a vibrant and attractive place to stay.

Accommodation

Whether in UL's Kilmurry Village or in DCU's College Park Apartments attendees will have a private room in on-campus accommodation close to the Sports Arena and all facilities. Each house has a fully fitted kitchen and a common room for down time. Whizzkids provide adult overnight supervisors and University Security patrol the accommodation areas for additional safety.

Health and Safety

Whizzkids Summer camps are a lot of fun, but we are very conscious of the safety of those attending. Staff-pupil ratios will be 10:1 in day time. Night time supervision ratios will be max 9:1. For both our day and residential camps our instructors are fully qualified teachers. Staff are fully briefed on health and safety measures particular to each University.

Travel

The University of Limerick is on the outskirts of the city just off the N7, the primary Limerick-Dublin road and is well signposted from all approaches. The University is very well serviced by bus from William St in the city centre. Taxi from the City Centre is approx €12. The University is 16 miles from Shannon airport. DCU is located in Glasnevin just off the M50, just 5 miles from Dublin Airport. It has a frequent bus service from the city centre or costs €12 by taxi.
